Eva Brunner-Szabo - Retrospective * Vernissage in memory of the artist 11.09. - 27.09.2020 Offenes Haus Oberwart, 7400 Oberwart The exhibition focuses on the group of works entitled "The 12 Apostles", a series of large-format works that the Burgenländisches Landesmuseum received as a donation from the artist's estate in 2016. The rest of the photographic and documentary estate, comprising around 3,000 works, is held by the Landessammlungen Niederösterreich. The focus of Eva Brunner-Szabo's work is the examination of the simultaneously preservative and fleeting nature of technical image recording. While her photographic work is primarily autobiographical, her video and mixed media works manifest a signature characterized by a strong political awareness. |
